Māia Wāhine: Career Exploration, Mental Health and Well-being

  • Māia Wāhine is an in-house programme specifically designed to support our local rangatahi, focussing on nurturing their mental health and wellbeing and encouraging career exploration. Over six weeks, you’ll receive proven practical support and guidance to help you on your professional journey.

    You’ll learn the importance of CVs, Cover Letters, Interview Techniques, Goal Setting, and Budgeting, and be given the skills to practice these successfully in the real world. We also assist in identifying your work aspirations and interests, exploring career opportunities, and you’ll build some incredible long-lasting connections and friendships while you’re here too.

Initiate Wāhine:

The Driving Hub: Driving Lessons and Licence Support

  • Having a driver's licence can be a game-changer, opening doors to better job prospects and greater independence. The Driving Hub, has been designed specifically for those in our Hawke’s Bay community who struggle to find the confidence or resources to get their licence.

    In this programme, you’ll be provided with FREE driving lessons and drivers licence tests, and our patient and experienced instructors will guide you every step of the way.

    Learning to drive is a significant milestone, and we want you to feel supported, listened to, and encouraged throughout your entire journey. We’ll work closely with you to understand your unique needs, learning styles, and goals, and we’ll even help you obtain the essential documents you need to pass your licence, like a birth certificate if you don’t already have one.

  • YES! We can offer pick ups and drop offs. We are also able to offer fuel vouchers to get to and from programmes for those on benefit. Talk to one of our team members for more info.

  • There is plenty of street parking outside our office.

  • Our programmes run 9am - 2pm, Monday - Friday.

  • One of our team members would love to talk to you about the criteria. We can also offer you our digital programme (Good to Go) or talk to you about future programmes that you might be interested in.

  • No! We currently accept vaccinated and non-vaccinated candidates.

  • We understand that day one can be nerve-wracking for everyone, so try not to stress, we will all be there to welcome you in with open arms. Bring lunch and a positive attitude - we cover the rest.
